Who operates this site
JSON Formatter is open, client-side software that anyone can deploy. The person or organization that hosts a particular instance is the operator of that instance. This policy describes how the software itself behaves.
JSON you paste or upload
Formatting, validation, minification, copying, and downloading happen in your browser with the JavaScript JSON parser. The application does not submit editor contents to a backend API. Clearing the page or closing the tab discards the text from application memory. We do not create accounts, and we do not store JSON on a server.
Hosting logs
The host (for example Vercel) may record standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and the pages requested. Those logs are controlled by the host and the site operator, not by the JSON editor. Page requests do not include the JSON in the editor.
Advertising
Ad slots are present so Google AdSense can be enabled later. When NEXT_PUBLIC_ADSENSE_CLIENT is unset, the slots render as labeled placeholders and no AdSense script is loaded. When the operator configures a real publisher ID and slot IDs, Google may set cookies or use advertising identifiers as described in Google's privacy policy and advertising technologies. This codebase does not ship a fake publisher ID.
Cookies and trackers
The formatter itself does not set analytics cookies and does not include extra trackers. Third-party ads, if enabled, may use cookies. You can block ads or cookies in your browser.
Children
This tool is a general-purpose developer utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
The operator may update this page if advertising, hosting, or features change. The date at the top reflects the latest revision of this document in the software.
